Welcome to Stanton Valley Farm, our little slice of heaven operating out of the Stanton section of Readington Township in beautiful Hunterdon County, NJ.
We are the Dunn Family
and our mission is simple; raise the highest quality meat, poultry, and eggs available. Our small-scale family farm is a new adventure for us. Our goal is to raise our animals with access to fresh pasture, sunlight, fresh air, and all the bugs they could ever want. Oh yeah…and love. Seriously, we are going to love the heck out of these animals and make sure they only ever have that one bad day. We have a lot of plans for our 7-acre property and hope you will join us on our journey.
Kevin was born and raised in Vineland, NJ where farmland and open space is plentiful. His grandparents lived, worked, and raised their family on a farm. He currently owns and operates TEST Sports Club, a 24,000 square foot fitness facility in Martinsville, NJ that services adults and athletes at all levels. One of its most notable programs, TEST Football Academy, helps prepare college football players for the NFL Combine and beyond which has produced 350+ signed contracts with the National Football League. It just so happens that one of our alumni also owns a farm in PA which is where we acquired our pigs… keeping it all in the family!
Lauren is a certified nutritionist who decided to turn her passion for nutrition and fitness into a small business venture with Stanton Valley Farm. There is a lot of misinformation out there regarding nutrition; some of the most common myths surrounding meat and animal bi-products. What better way to support her beliefs than by raising our own animals on pasture to ensure the highest quality final products. We realize we are new to raising livestock, but couldn’t be more excited to let our dream play itself out. And here we are with Stanton Valley Farm.
Jackson is the cutest little farmer around who has a passion for animals and working hard. He loves to help with the daily chores by feeding our animals, cleaning their living areas, and making sure they are all loved. He loves to collect our fresh eggs daily and get them ready to be sold to our customers. It’s important that we teach Jackson where his food comes from. And as meat eaters, it is important for him to understand and respect the animals that nourish our bodies.
There is a sense of pleasure and achievement that you get from farming and homesteading. The missing piece from our normal 9-5. We hope to share that experience with you and maybe encourage some of you to start raising and growing your own food. If we can do it, so can you!
Our pigs are raised with the freedom to roam and root up the soil as they wish. We are honoring “the pigness of the pig” as Joel Salatin says. No confinement operations here! Our pigs spend their time rooting around in their 1/2 acre forest enclosure. They eat high quality feed, fresh filtered whey, locally sourced fresh produce, as well as grubs, grass, and healthy scraps from our own plates.

When we decided we wanted to raise poultry, we knew we wanted to have them out in the fresh air and sunlight.
Our broilers move to fresh grass twice a day in a mobile chicken tractor as soon as they leave the brooder. They are fed high quality feed, fresh grass and bugs, and liquid whey. This moveable tractor ensures that they can get everything they need to grow and thrive but can also be protected from the elements and predators.
Our turkeys, ducks, geese and quails all have safe housing to sleep in at night and roam a well-protected area during the day. They also get plenty of fresh air, sunlight, high quality feed and whey. In 2021, our turkeys ended up being almost 30lbs (after processing) and were absolutely delicious!
We process all of our broilers and turkeys on the property. The same hands that feed them daily, also peacefully and respectfully end their lives.

Our herd is incredibly entertaining. Alan, Steven, and Penny are alpacas, Luna is a llama, and Liam is a llama/alpaca mix (Luna’s son). We have been enjoying their quirkiness as they graze throughout our pastures. Alan (pictured, dirty white one) has taken a liking to the wild mushrooms that sprout on the farm; he spends most of his days completely unbothered, exploring an alternate universe where he can probably hear colors.
We will be shearing their fibers each spring to be spun into beautiful handmade products like gloves and scarves. Did you know that llama & alpaca waste (lovingly called 'beans') is a wonderful cold fertilizer? You can put it right into your garden with no fear of burning your plants!
If you are interested in fiber products or a bucket of beans, please email stantonvalleyfarm@gmail.com.
What's a farm without cows?
Tank, our 50% Highland miniature bull sort of fell into our laps when all of his friends were leaving him behind in Minnesota. It didn't take much convincing to have him come join our chaotic crew.
We decided that the llamas and alpacas were not enough company when he took a real liking to one of our female alpacas, Penny. So we brought Rosie and Susie (purebred Highland) onto the farm to keep Tank company and hopefully create some babies of their own.
These three make the sweetest little throuple and we hope that Tank is big enough (he is SHORT) to become a dad some day!
